The carbon footprint of a French person is currently 8.5 tonnes of CO2 per year. The aim is to reduce it to less than 2 tonnes per person by 2100 so as not to exceed 2 degrees of global warming. Transport accounts for 25% of France's carbon footprint. In order to support the rapid and significant need to reduce the footprint caused by transport, society must equip itself with substantial resources, which will have to be made available to all players in the regions. Businesses therefore have a main area of study to play in this transition towards more sustainable mobility for both citizens and goods.
