EM Normandie redesigns its programmes focusing on the key skills needed to succeed in business

Initial Education

Because employability of its graduates is one of its top priorities, EM Normandie has restructured its programmes around key skills to be acquired during their studies. In line with government guidelines, this approach highlights practical skills and know-how.

Our mission is to support students in their development as responsible managers, free to think, learn and create in a sustainable world. Our programmes are designed to give our students the attractive profiles that recruiters are looking for, and to ensure that they enter the job market directly. We no longer train our students for specific professions, but to acquire the skills that will make them flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing world.

Explains Anne-Sophie Courtier, Dean of Programmes at EM Normandie.

A skills-based teaching approach that extends across all programmes

Understanding business, exploiting data, steering innovative projects, ability to manage and bring people together... the entry points to the programmes are no longer the traditional subjects but the skills that students will develop over their training. To achieve this, these skills are broken down into skill acquisition modules, made up of theoretical courses and practical applications. Of course, this includes everything that feeds into the Test and Learn approach, which is part of the school's DNA: international experiences, challenges, assignments, internships, work-study tracks, student associations, research work, etc. ... EdTech teaching methods are part of this new educational landscape, with EM Normandie Business School clearly committed to exploring new ways of learning that are always more immersive, entertaining and gamified, with a dedicated in-house team.

Exclusive Responsible skills guidelines

As a member of the CDEFM (Conférence des Directeurs d'Écoles Françaises de Management), EM Normandie Business School is introducing the Responsible Skills Reference Frameworks, exclusive to the consortium. The aim is to raise students' awareness of SD and CSR issues and to train them to implement responsible tools and practices (circular economy, responsible finance, etc.). At the same time, trained through Task® and Sullitest, students learn to take a critical and constructive look at the practices of organisations and to develop innovative solutions.

Strong positions for EM Normandie Business School's 3 flagship programmes

Master in Management: a programme of excellence designed to train Top Managers

Approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as a 5 year master's degree French test score, the Master in Management trains top-level general managers capable of supervising specialists. Each semester, students work on a specific theme: learning to learn, developing an entrepreneurial spirit, CSR, expatriation, experimentation, management, etc. They then specialise during the Master's cycle by choosing one of the 6 main areas of study linked to the major fields of management (Finance, Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Digital Innovation, Responsible Manager and Consultant). They progressively acquire the essential skills needed to enter the market effectively and pursue their careers: planning ahead in a changing world / building an innovative and sustainable strategy / doing things differently / operating in a digital and data-driven world / developing your business / managing responsibly / committing to global performance. Professionalisation through internships, challenges and work-study tracks, as well as an international outlook, are all part of the programme, with - a model that is still not very common in the world of the Grandes Ecoles - the opportunity to go abroad from the high school degree and to follow the entire programme abroad. The possibility of obtaining a Master in Management/MSc® double-diploma at no extra cost makes the programme even more attractive to students wishing to pursue an international career.

A stronger international dimension for the IBBA, with 4 countries in 4 years

The 100% English-language IBBA Programme, which aims for a Bachelor's degree, trains middle managers capable of working in a multicultural environment. Although it is a generalist programme, its distinctive feature lies in the fact that it offers students the opportunity to travel around Europe and Asia, working on consulting projects for local companies in each country. Students spend their first year of study in Paris, where they learn about Sustainable Development (SD), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Made in France. They then fly off to Dublin to deepen their skills in tech and digital. Next, they focus on logistics and the supply chain in Dubai. Finally, they complete their studies in Oxford, specialising in finance. They immerse themselves in the cultural specificities of each country, developing their ability to adapt and their understanding of international cultural issues.

A highly operational 3-year Bachelor in Management, tailored to your needs

Aimed at students with 3 years' higher education and a Bachelor's degree, the Bachelor degree in Management is firmly rooted in France and can be followed 100% in French (an English-speaking course is available in year 3). In 3 years, it enables students to develop the key skills needed to become middle managers in finance, human resources, marketing and logistics.

A first in the world of Grandes Écoles, the immersive Semester offered in 2nd year allows students to devote 6 months to a project they are passionate about. They can join an international humanitarian association, take up civic service, follow a specialised training programme to acquire new expertise, embark on an entrepreneurial project or join the campuses in Dubai, Dublin or a partner university. It's a unique opportunity to explore your passions and develop your skills.

The EM Normandie Career Path and the EM Normandie Alumni Association complete the learning experience and promote the professional integration of future graduates, with tailored coaching to help them develop their network and personal branding and build a career plan to match their ambitions.

EM Normandie Business School's post-baccalaureate programmes are accessible via the SESAME admissions test, except for the Bachelor in Management, which is accessible via ParcourSup.
