EM Normandie Oxford’s M1 Global Track students to receive a CMI Level 7 (postgraduate) certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership
School's life
EM Normandie Oxford is delighted to announce that the campus has been granted “Approved Centre” status by the UK’s Chartered Management Institute.
Since it’s inauguration in 2014, EM Normandie’s Oxford Campus has been welcoming students from the Grande Ecole Programme (PGE). For the academic year 2023/24, there will be circa 400 PGE students who will study all five stages of the programme in Oxford. For the September 2023 intake, the campus will have 70 places for post-bac students while offering 50 student places on M1/M2/MSc programmes.
EM Normandie Oxford campus offers M2 in Banking Finance and Fintech which incorporates latest trends and practical applications from the industry. Students will be at an added advantage of being in close proximity to London, which is a global hub for financial and banking corporations.
Founded in 1947, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) was conferred with the Royal Charter for the Management profession by the Queen’s (Elizabeth II) Privy Council in 2002. This prestigious recognition allows the CMI to be the standards bearer for the profession and reflects it’s commitment to uphold professional standards. Having the Royal Charter makes CMI the only professional body that can award “Chartered” status to practicing managers.
After a rigorous quality audit, CMI has confirmed that modules which are offered by CMI for their Level 7 (master’s level) Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership (which carries 20 UK credits) are comparable with two of the modules on EM Normandie’s M1 Global Track programme. This evaluation enables CMI to automatically grant those who successfully pass EM Normandie’s M1 : Strategic Change Management (HR) and Digital Marketing Strategy modules with their Level 7 certificate without any extra exams, thus, enabling the students to accelerate their journey of becoming a Chartered Manager.
The Chartered Manager title is the highest accolade for any practicing manager in the UK. Having CMI’s level 7 certificate will also enable EM Normandie Oxford’s students to claim part-exemptions from many UK and international masters programmes offered by other Universities and awarding bodies.
Once completed, students will be able to use the acronyms CSML (UK) and CMgr (UK) after their names. In addition, while studying, students will have access to CMI’s repository of management journal articles, publications, webinars, podcasts mentoring sessions, management diagnostic tools, career centre, mental wellbeing platform and networking events. These events will enable EM Normandie Oxford’s students to network with UK-based practitioners and senior managers.
Dr Miriam Schmidkonz, Campus Director and Principal of EM Normandie Oxford campus stated that:
We are both honoured and delighted to be approved by the Chartered Management Institute as an approved centre, which is another attestation to our commitment to high quality, industry-focussed teaching. The CMI partnership enables us to offer great value and a host of added benefits to students who choose to study at EM Normandie’s Oxford campus which is located within the beautiful city of Oxford, holding a global reputation for high quality education and research. Masters students at EM Normandie Oxford will be able to gain CMI’s level 7 certificate and fast-track their way of becoming a Chartered Manager. This will allow the students to create a competitive advantage and differentiate themselves from other university graduates with similar degrees.
