EM Normandie Business School signs a partnership with the Institute of Social Sciences of the Central Region of Vietnam

EM Normandie Business School has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Social Sciences of the Central Region (ISSCR) of Vietnam, aimed at developing their cooperation in the fields of scientific research and education.
EM Normandie Business School and the Institut des Sciences Sociales de la Région Centrale (ISSCR) have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop their scientific and educational cooperation. The objectives are as follows:
- Exchange of academic staff ;
- Short training programmes by EM Normandie Business School for Vietnamese local and provincial authorities;
- Collaborative research projects and publications on themes linked to regional sustainable development: climate change and agricultural sustainability, marine economy, tourism development, SME performance, etc;
- Co-organisation of scientific conferences and workshops;
- Promotion of other academic cooperation projects.
The Central Region Institute of Social Sciences was set up in 2005 as a research institute belonging to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. Its mission is to address theoretical and practical social science issues in the Central Region. It produces scientific evidence and provides advice to develop strategies and policies for rapid and sustainable regional development. It also participates in university and post-graduate training programmes and develops the region's social science potential.
In July 2024, the two parties organised an international scientific conference on the theme of ‘Local governance, digital transformation and regional sustainable development’ in Da Nang, Vietnam. This conference was part of a series of events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Central Region Institute of Social Sciences.
10 years of cooperation between EM Normandie Business School and Vietnam
Since 2014, EM Normandie Business School and Vietnam have been steadily stepping up their exchanges and consolidating their educational, academic and institutional relations. In 10 years, the school has helped to train nearly 300 senior civil servants in various areas such as public finance, regional planning, e-government and sustainable tourism.
The year 2020 marked the first collaboration with a higher education establishment, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) in Hanoi, which enabled EM Normandie Business School to welcome Vietnamese students on the Bachelor International Management programme. This was followed by the opening of the Master in Banking, Finance & Fintech at the National University of Vietnam (IFI) in 2021.
In November 2021, EM Normandie Business School joined forces with the Institute of Policy and Development of the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment by signing the first agreement on training programmes to upgrade the skills of the Ministry's decentralised departments. At the same time, the school has entered into a partnership with the Vietnamese T&T Group, which employs more than 100,000 people in a variety of sectors, to enable the roll-out of Executive education programmes that meet the needs of different managers depending on the business sector and on high-quality academic programmes.
In September 2022, EM Normandie Business School and theNational Academy of Public Administration of Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement in the field of TRAINING PROGRAMME for senior civil servants of the Vietnamese State.
In January 2023, the Business School signed a memorandum of understanding with Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), one of Vietnam's leading public universities and a benchmark school in the fields of economics, banking and finance with over 13,000 students. This partnership will enable the two institutions to collaborate in terms of scientific research, student exchanges, enhancing the skills of the EM Normandie Faculty and developing high-quality programmes.
Through this new partnership, EM Normandie Business School is becoming more involved in community development in a region that is strategically important for Vietnam. Already recognised by the Vietnamese government for its academic excellence in both TRAINING PROGRAMME and research, the school is extending its impact and confirming its position as an influential player on the international scene.
