#BeParisianForADay: an integration day in Paris for international students from EM Normandie

School's life

On Saturday 21 st of september, EM Normandie Business School organised an integration day entitled “Be Parisian for a Day”, specially dedicated to its international students.

This event, which has become an annual traditionand was in Versailles last year, aims to introduce newcomers to the French capital, while fostering cultural exchanges and a sense of belonging to the EM Normandie Business School community.

This year, 159 students from 43 different countries were present. Young people from all over the world, from Europe to Asia, South America and Africa, came by to live a unique experience at a leading French business school, through a rich and adapted training programme.

To ensure that the day ran as smoothly as possible, 14 members of the school staff also took part in the adventure. Their mission: to ensure that the activities ran smoothly, to answer students' questions and, above all, to make sure that everyone felt welcome and at ease in this new environment.
The EM Normandie Business School team was determined to make this an unforgettable day out, combining cultural discovery and conviviality.

Cultural discovery at the heart of Paris and from different angles

The journey began at a symbolic Paris landmark:the Musée d'Orsay. The group's meeting point, this emblematic Parisian monument, formerly a railway station, is now one of the capital's most visited museums, notably for its exceptional collection of Impressionist works. The group then headed for the Tuileries Gardens, one of the oldest and most beautiful French gardens in Paris, offering participants an ideal setting to relax and get to know each other.

After this pleasant break, the day continued with a stroll along the banks of the Seine . An ideal way to discover Paris from a new angle. The students enjoyed breathtaking views of the city's emblematic monuments, including the Louvre, the Conciergerieand the Eiffel Tower . Throughout the walk, the students were able to talk about their feelings of Paris, share their first experiences in France and tell each other anecdotes about their respective countries and backgrounds. This moment of sharing created strong links between people from different backgrounds.

The integration day ended with a cruise on the Bateaux-Mouches , a must for anyone visiting Paris. Sitting on the deck of the boat, students were able to admire the wonders of the city in a unique and magical way. From Notre-Dame to the Invalides, via the Grand Palais and the Musée d'Orsay, each monument was a source of wonders and photo opportunities.

Unforgettable memories and budding friendships

The day ended in a relaxed and happy atmosphere, with everyone feeling that they had a privileged experience, both as tourists and as people. “Be Parisian for a Day” fully met its objective: to enable international students to get to know each other better, to discover the capital together , and to create shared memoriesthat will mark the beginning of a year abroad with new great friendships.
